Private Coaching

Empowering Artists Through Discovery, Collaboration, and Craft

The best performances begin with the right questions. As a coach, I believe artistry grows when discovery and intention come from your most authentic self. When we explore why a character behaves a certain way, how a moment lives in the world of a story, and what you need most to effectively share that story.

My coaching is grounded in the same philosophy that guides my directing and teaching: theater is an ecosystem. Every performer contributes to that living, breathing world, and every choice you make affects that very story. Through guided discovery, clear technique, and a collaborative approach, I help artists of all levels unlock their instincts, strengthen their skills, and bring authenticity to their work.

Coaching Focus Areas

Acting for the Stage
Explore truthful storytelling through text analysis, character development, and moment-to-moment connection. We’ll work toward performances that feel natural, grounded, and emotionally alive.

Musical Theatre & Vocal Performance
Healthy singing feels good. Together, we’ll develop techniques that allow your voice to thrive: sustainable, free, and expressive. Learn to connect your vocal choices to the character’s truth, build endurance, and find joy in YOUR sound.

Audition & Self-Tape Preparation
From college auditions to professional submissions, we’ll craft material that highlights YOU! Your individuality, confidence, and readiness. You’ll leave with tools to walk into any room (or hit record) with ease and authenticity.

Mindset & Mentorship
Performance is vulnerable. Through supportive, honest coaching, we’ll build self-awareness and confidence so your artistry can flourish both onstage and off.

A Safe, Supportive Environment

I believe theater provides a space where every artist deserves to feel valued, safe, and inspired. My coaching sessions are designed to meet you where you are — to celebrate individuality, encourage curiosity, and cultivate growth in a healthy, sustainable way.

Whether you’re preparing for an audition, strengthening your voice, or rediscovering your love for the craft, I’ll help you build tools that last long after the session ends.

What you can count on

100% College Program Placement

My coaching is goal-oriented and tailored to each performer’s unique strengths. To date, I have maintained a 100% placement rate for students auditioning for collegiate Musical Theatre programs, helping them find programs where they can continue to grow as both artists and individuals.

Holistic Vocal Health & Technique

Singing should feel good. My approach blends artistry with practical anatomy helping you build healthy, sustainable technique that supports your natural sound. Together, we’ll develop habits that promote vocal freedom, stamina, and confidence, so your voice can thrive both now and in the future.

Authentic Storytelling

Every song and scene begins with truth. Through guided exploration and acting-based vocal work, I help performers connect emotionally to their material, discovering genuine, grounded choices that make each performance unique and believable.

Building Personalized Repertoire

Your material should best represent you and what you bring to the table. We’ll curate songs and monologues that highlight your individuality, vocal strengths, and emotional connection, creating a repertoire that sets you apart in auditions and allows your artistry to shine.

100% Advance to State Level

Every student I’ve coached for competition has advanced to the State Level of the Walter Trumbauer Theatre Festival. Through personalized coaching, focused storytelling, and strong technical preparation, each performer develops the confidence and artistry to deliver exceptional, award-ready work.

Jacob Morris has been a motivator and inspiring voice for countless young performers thanks to his genuine dedication to mentorship and helping students succeed. He values technique while simultaneously helping students discover their most authentic voice on stage and in the audition room. Jacob taught me how to connect with my material and present that authentically. His guidance makes the entire college audition process less intimidating and far more rewarding.

Real Artists. Real Growth.

Jacob understands that coaching goes beyond technique. It’s about presence, discipline, and confidence both on and off the stage. His guidance has had a lasting impact on my daughter’s growth as a performer.

My son has worked with Jacob for many years. Learning in all areas: on stage, lighting, backstage, music, directing, and more. Jacob helped through the craziness of college and audition preparation.

I will forever be grateful for the encouragement, support, and skills my son has taken with him as he continues his journey in NYC.

Jacob Morris is a wonderful teacher. His voice lessons and college prep lessons thoroughly prepared me for my college BFA auditions and BFA program. Working with Jacob gave me the training and confidence I needed to crush my BFA Auditions!

“Jacob is incredible!”

I can’t say enough good things about Jacob Morris. My daughter Loralei has been working with Jacob on various project for over a year! She’s grown so much in both confidence and skill—her voice is stronger, her stage presence has come alive, and she truly found her home in theatre through opportunities Jacob helped to make possible for her.

He has such a great way of connecting with his students. He knows how to challenge them while keeping things positive and fun. You can tell he really cares about helping them grow, not just as performers but as people. Whether they are interested in pursuing a professional career in the arts or are just looking for an outlet for artistic energy.

If you’re looking for someone who truly brings out the best in young artists, and is working ever so hard to create incredible opportunities for emerging talent, Jacob is the one. We’re so grateful for everything he’s done for Loralei!
